Baptized. (Hold the Water.)

Technically, Ellie was baptized the day she was born.  The setting was the NICU, and I hardly remember the experience.  I was recovering from a long labor, emergency c-section, and on a lot of painkillers.

So this weekend, friends and family celebrated at church.  We started off with some family time.

(Terri and Matt.)

(Megan and Terri.)

(See those closed eyes?  She's fakin'.)

We went to P.F. Changs, we ate cupcakes, we introduced Ellie to Aunt Terri.

(Lettuce wraps.)

(Uncle Mark holding the munchkin.)

(On our walk.)

(Yum.  Yum.  Yum.)

(So you're the one who buys me the clothes?)

Ellie napped on our long walk, then stayed awake through dinner.  Until we left.  After ten.  At night.

She woke up at 5:15.

(Good morning!)

The photos below are not by me.  All the credit goes to our dear friends Robert, Christina, and Tim.

We were happy to have many of our friends attend church with us.  Ellie was a doll during the service, and finally fell asleep right as our pastor presented her to the congregation.  We didn't get to hear her scream when the water was sprinkled on her head, because she went through that at the hospital baptism.  This was an opportunity to involve the church, the godparents, and the friends who have supported us.  Ellie's godparents hosted a reception so we could take the time to chat with everyone.

Thank you.

OK, I can't help it.  One more picture that I took.

  1. I really like that photo of you laughing, holding Ellie!
And the bit about 'letting your light shine' - I love the name, Eleanor, 'shining light" - she does indeed shine, doesn't she? xoxo
