(And my readers in Chicago and Boston can laugh now.)
But we got our 4-5 inches of snow which nicely shut down the entire DC metro area this morning, including all of the schools and most businesses. Ellie was up promptly at 4:45. (Matt and I were up, too. Why was our condo association shoveling before 5 am?) By eight o'clock, we'd already made some art, made snow ice cream, watched Tangled, and had a dance party.
Matt took Ellie outside to play in the snow for a bit.

Smiling right before she started sobbing. |
Ellie was exhausted by noon and is currently curled up in her bed while I sip tea and eat snacks.
I love snow days. I do not love snow (and neither does Ellie), but snow days are nice. I needed a chance to pause.
