ISO 1600, f1.8, 1/200 with my Nikon D3100 that (still) is not great in low light. Still eyeing the D610! |

My second week with a portrait for Practising Simplicity features a sleeping Ellie. It was far too cold for outdoor portraits and this moment was worth saving. After pulling an all-nighter and refusing to nap, Ellie continued to fight sleep until she dozed off for a few minutes standing up. Her head was on her dress up trunk. Unfortunately, I made an amateur mistake and tried to move her, and she woke up.

gorgeous. I'll never understand why they fight the nap, I made the same mistake of moving my olive when she fell asleep in her toy car.
