Ellie loved the birds. She was convinced that the seagulls were penguins, but watching the birds catch fish was great free entertainment for Ellie. She would yell "Hi birds! Hi fishie!" over and over sitting on the wet sand.
At sunset one night, Matt taught her to say "sunset" and it became one of her new favorite words, along with "awesome!"
Ellie loved running around outside on the driveway and exploring. I can't believe she's only been walking for a couple of months, because she was running around everywhere (except the sand, which she had mixed feelings about.)
Ellie loved playing in the sand and with her shadow. She would give her shadow a look and reach into the sand and grab the shadow.
A few of Ellie's fish friends were eaten by gulls, but she loved the fish and the birds.
Mama wanted to see an actual turtle, not just a nest, but I'll take what I can get.
And a few shots of the family.
We have a week before back to school for teachers and another week for kids, so I'm trying to stretch summer into this week as well, even though I'm back at home! What was your summer highlight?

I just read all the posts about your vacation! Sooo nice! The pictures are great! I'm glad you guys had a good time and Ellie learned so much! Walking in the sand is a hard task and she nailed it! I hope there'll be a next time so we can get to meet! xoxo
