ReplyDeleteHi! I found your blog from the post today on ETST. As I have read your posts I have been so encouraged. In a month I will begin a 1 year program to become certified in Applied Behavior Analysis and I have worked with children with special needs in various settings (early intervention inclusion preschool, home therapy, self-contained elementary). I am so grateful for each day I have to be impacted by the children that I teach. Also, I found out 6 years ago that I have genetic hearing loss that could leave me completely deaf. I am so grateful for my own loss because it has helped me relate to others--somewhat to the parents of the children I work with--because I know what it's like to have a disability enter your life when you didn't ask for it or expect it. I trust that this loss is purposeful, not to make my life more difficult but so "the works of God might be displayed (John 9)". Thank you for sharing your story--Ellie is beautiful!
