I don't think insulting my daughter is worth a five second laugh.
Some people use the word "r-tard" in a mean way, intentionally. Those people are just jerks.
But a whole lot of people, otherwise smart people, mature people, wise people, have a lapse and use the word "r-tard" to describe anything that they deem sub-par in a moment: their friends, themselves, their toaster, their car, the government, public figures, etc.
You hurt me and you hurt Ellie when you use that word.
Stop.
Please.
