Ellie's Love List - Happy Valentine's Day.

Dear Grown Ups,

Mommy and Daddy told me that Valentine's Day is a day of love.  I love a lot of stuff.  Are you ready for my list of love?

I love my mommy and daddy and grandmas and grandpas and uncles and aunties.  And the rest of my family.  And all my friends.  And babies.  Unless Mommy or Daddy dares to hold another baby, then babies are bad.

I love Elmo.  I love Elmo.  I love Elmo.  Do you get the picture?  Sometimes very very early, I look at my mommy with sad eyes and say "More Mo-Mo?"  She knows what I mean.

I love apples.  They are red, for Valentine's Day.  In fact, I love most food, both for eating and for throwing.

I love my felt food from Melissa and Doug.  Whoever Melissa and Doug are, they are very good at making toys.  Sometimes I forget my food is fake and I try to eat my felt sandwiches.  They taste bad, so maybe Melissa and Doug can make me some real food, too.

I love my toy babies.  I put them "night night."  To put a toy baby night night, you have to pick it up and give it kisses.  Try to make the kisses sloppy.  Then, with one swift motion, slam the baby into the baby bed.  Yell "NIGHT NIGHT" in a big voice and then give the baby "gentle taps" on the head.  Do not attempt this with a real baby if your parents are around.

I love shoes.  And I love socks.  And I can put my socks on.  My mommy is very proud of that fact, except she says that's how socks get lost.  I like to wear one random sock and go all over the house with it, then take off the sock.  It's like a sock-Easter-egg-hunt for grown ups, but the grown ups are not  amused.  Grown ups should be amused more.

I love the phone and saying "HI!" and "Cheese!" to my picture on the phone when I FaceTime, because I am technologically savvy.

I love goldfish crackers.  And stacking blocks and yelling "a-boom!" when I knock them down.  And books.  And the bookstore.  And emptying drawers and cabinets.  And laundry baskets.

So, that is my love story for Valentine's Day!

Love, Ellie

P.S. Did you know this is the last day of CHD Awareness Week?  You should be aware that I was born with a CHD, or congenital heart defect.  Now, I have a NHD, which is NO heart defect, and I have a lot of energy.  I guess one of the heart doctors from my hospital is talking at some thing at our church, because Mommy said she cried a little when she saw he was talking.  I think she's a little sad that ever since my heart surgery a year and a half ago, I don't like to sleep nearly as much anymore!

  1. As I sit here with my little NHD anymore baby at 4 am I have a lot of sympathy for mom. Energy is good during acceptable business hours. :-)

Love your list Ellie. Happy Valentines Day!
