#1: Today, I danced to the Cupid Shuffle in a sea of people, both with and without Down syndrome, people laughing, people singing, people who were happy. The joy of that particular song gave me confidence that my girl is growing up in a community that will embrace her and love her.
#2: A true child of the 80s, today I am was very happy to meet Corky! I mean, Chris Burke, who starred in "Life Goes On." I may have have handed him my baby and asked for a photo. Fortunately, he's a very understanding guy who probably gets that a lot when meeting parents in the DS community.
I only got a phone photo, as a certain pig-tailed individual wanted to steal Mr. Burke's cookies.
I'm learning, I'm enjoying, I'm meeting some awesome folks, and I am going to BED.

So glad you took time to post after such a busy day! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up I was obsessed with Life Goes On. This warms my heart so.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have serious NDSC convention envy and your celebrity mingling just made it worse. Grumble. ;)
It is so nice of you to take time to share with those of us who wish we could be in D.C. with you. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm also jealous! I wish I could be in DC. Also a child of the 80's here...love the picture!
