In exciting weekend news, Matt and I went out on a date last night,
hitting our favorite restaurant in Georgetown. We went for a short walk
after dinner, but the rain began to fall and we hightailed it back to
the car, jumping in just before the downpour began. I had my camera out very briefly, because of the rain.

| Me. Pre-race. |
Today, I ran a race. I left early in the morning to drive to the start, acquire my number (302) and warm up, and I actually ran a pretty good 5K, coming in at 22:27. I can't remember the last time I drove that far alone, and the race was only 30 minutes away. Yep, more time driving than running. But I'm glad I went, glad I ran, and glad Matt and Ellie got to stay home and have some quality "Daddy Daughter Time."
Post race-today we went to a great little pastry shop across the street, where I ordered quiche and then asked if they have chocolate croissants. Since the pastries were displayed on the other side of the store, I ordered mine sight unseen. I regret not taking a photo, because it was the size of my head.
And since the sun was shining, Ellie visited the swings.
What are you looking forward to this work-week? I am not looking forward to Ellie getting her eye scoped on Thursday, but I am looking forward to an end to "eye goop."
