Today was a good, good day.
We've gone to the swings (twice). We assembled a water table and played. We ate a picnic lunch. And in between, Ellie managed to cram in both physical and developmental therapy, along with a playdate with her buddy Parker.

(Nothing like squeezable carrots to make a great day even better.) |
Fact: Filling a water table when the outdoor water is turned off for winter presents a challenge. I used a plastic sun tea container, filling it over and over. The water table had to be completely full in order for my little munchkin to reach any water.

(We may need to add a booster step.) |
Yes, life can be good when the weather is cold, but wow, today brought out the best in me. I left the house prior to six am for a run, clad in shorts and a long sleeve shirt. I overdressed for the weather. I dressed Ellie in a skirt and let her play barefoot in the grass.
This morning, I thought I'd write about milestones and early intervention and the early language program that I see helping Ellie's receptive language. Ellie worked on plenty of educational stuff today, but I am in the mood for light and springy, so we'll discuss the fundamentals of language another time.
After dinner, I'm going back outside.
And a reminder - March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day. I'll be hosting a blog link-up, so make sure to check back for more information as we get closer.
That table is awesome! I second your idea on the booster step!
