A Mini-Update and Family Fun.

Hard to believe, but I didn't really get my camera out in the past few days.  Ellie's been keeping us on our toes with her backward crawl.  I have yet to get that on video (I got the army crawl the other day) but it's hilarious.  She gets up on all fours and looks like she's about to take off.  She looks good.  She looks strong.  And she moves backward, 90 percent of the time landing herself under the coffee table.

The girl can move.  Once she figures out forward, nothing will be safe.  I can't wait.  Outlet covers are on, cords are moving up, and we're recognizing that the little one is about to gain some serious independence.  I'm a proud mama.  She's been eating like a champ from all the hard work, too.  Cheerios (straight off the floor) for motivation, but also tacos, eggs, chili, you name it.  Ellie ate salsa in her eggs this morning.  We gave her just a touch of hot salsa last night, and she didn't seem fazed.

Given the fact that we've been having some family fun, you'd think my I Heart Faces entry this week would feature Ellie, Matt and I.  Nope.  I don't have many photos of the three of us, and many of those I have are taken with a tripod and a grumpy baby.  Those photos are not cute.  Instead, I'm sharing this photo.

Yep, it's another Christmas shot.  Ellie opening an abundance of gifts with her grandparents in the early morning light in the days following Christmas.
