I was reminded today (by the goodness of "soy nog") that the holiday season is upon us. Since we kick it all off with Thanksgiving, I think a celebration is in order.
This month, I'll be focusing on reasons I am thankful. Today, I'll simply start with the big two.
I am thankful for my husband. He makes me laugh. This month, we'll celebrate two years of marriage. These two years have been a crazy ride, but there's no one I'd rather have by my side.
I am thankful for Ellie. She recently went through a rough spell and stopped sleeping through the night. Last night, she resumed her eight hours straight, waking up in a delightful mood. She is healthy. She is gaining weight, and I can't wait to get my girl on a scale.
When Ellie heard about this "thankfulness" thing, she asked if she could share, too. Ellie thought long and hard about her blessings. I expected something about her recovery from surgery, or maybe about her wonderful parents. As usual, Ellie had her own ideas.
What are you thankful for this year?

My beautiful, amazing, strong, smart, wonderful son... oh yeah, who has Down Syndrome :o) Thanks for making me smile and feel thankful for him all over again! I love reading your blog and seeing pictures of beautiful Ellie. Congrats on the marathon!
ReplyDeleteBracco hates socks as well! That is too funny!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I love those pigtails.
ReplyDeleteEllie-
ReplyDeleteI'm all grown-up and I don't like socks either!
I don't know how she can possibly get any cuter, but those first photos clearly prove that she can. Love her!
ReplyDeleteOH! Cora is not thankful for socks either. But she loves milk too. What good friends these girls would be! I am thankful for getting to see the beautiful Miss Ellie on a regular basis!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea. There is a facebook thing that goes around each year where people post their "today I'm thankful for..." thoughts each day. I never thought to put it on the blog. I think I will do that! Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by from Becky's Happiness Is... blog hop!

ReplyDeleteAs a daycare provider, I totally get the whole "not socks" thing! I've been inn a perpetual state of infant/toddler for 6 years and shoes and socks are the first thing to go, every day! LOL! Love it!
