{31 for 21} Halloween and a Winner: Thirty One.

Happy Halloween!  Ellie was so excited to celebrate she woke up at four this morning.  Poor baby doesn't realize that she can't have any candy this year.

She does get to wear a pumpkin hat and an "I'm so cute it's scary" onesie to make up for the sadness of a candy-free Halloween.  The swings also tend to help any sadness disappear.

Since yesterday's marathon post was very brief and written through some significant pain and soreness, I failed to mention the signs.  The Marine Corps Marathon is a wonderful spectator course, and I had to share the signs held by spectators.

"If Herman Cain can run, so can you."
"Quit reading this sign and run."
"Run like you stole something."
"You run better than Metro."
"Occupy Hains Point."
"We are the 99 percent who don't run marathons."
"Runner #________ is single" (With her phone number.)

I also saw Oscar the Grouch holding up an "Occupy Sesame Street" sign, a man dressed as a carton of milk with an "I am the 1 percent" sign, a sock monkey, and Thing 1 and Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat.

The news you've all been waiting for:

The winner of the giveaway is comment #26 - Jennifer.  Please email me before November 4 and I'll get you in touch with Jessica.  I can't wait to see photos of sweet Kennedy in her new sweater!

Friends, we have reached the end of "31 for 21" this year.  Don't worry, I'll keep on blogging and sharing photos of Ellie, although I don't think I'll go thirty-one days straight until next October.  I hope you learned something new about Down syndrome, despite my inability to find 31 Down syndrome-centric topics. If you have any burning questions about Down syndrome, Ellie's development, her various surgeries, her therapies, etc, feel free to email me or comment and I'll do my best to answer!

  1. Yes, Hailey will have to live with being cute this year. The boys are distraught that she isn't getting candy this year! Not many people could pull off the pumpkin hat but Ellie rocks it!
