Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

Thursday night, Ellie attended her first Cubs game.  We decided against the stroller and tried babywearing for the first time. I think that's the way we'll go for major sporting events involving metro, stadium steps and large crowds.

(I like the facial hair, I can pull it!)

The Cubs were down by 7 in the third inning, causing Matt to fear for Ellie's future Chicago sports love.  The Cubs nearly broke both Matt and Ellie's hearts, but only Ellie's requires physical repair.  Maybe once Ellie's heart is fixed, the Cubs will win the World Series?  (We can dream.)

Ellie wore a Cubs onesie.  Matt fears we have a slight problem, though.

We suspect that she is a closet Nats fan because she yawned conspicuously when the Cubs rallied in the sixth inning to tie the game 8-8.  Maybe she was mad at the Cubs for breaking her heart early in the game, or maybe she's just rebelling.

We left after teaching Ellie "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," and of course, we yelled  "CUBBIES!" instead of "Nats."  The Cubs rallied in the end.  Ellie stayed awake the entire time we were at the game. And the metro ride home.

And these are a few photos from the rest of the day.  I can't help it, I'm obsessively taking pictures with this lens.

(Laying on the left - Ellie favors the right.)

And just because I finally learned how to make a storyboard...

(Just two random pictures.)

  3. ohboyohboyohboy you like baseball?! I'm totally jealous. I want so badly to like it yet it knocks me out faster than episode of Thomas the Tank Engine. Mikey says I need to "understand" it - I think that just means to have an in-depth grasp on the DRAMA the baseball players have (and they say WOMEN like soap operas?! ha)

ps. I'd be honoured if you linked!
