Three Months and a {Giveaway}

June 4 marks three months since Eleanor Claire came into this world kicking and screaming and wiggling.

In the past three months we have:
a) survived the NICU
b) had two abdominal surgeries in our family
c) celebrated Ellie's arrival with people we love
d) all of the above

("Smile at Mommy!" must
mean "Show the tongue!")

(Count the chins.)

The correct answer is of course d).  Since Ellie's birth, I've learned to love more, to hope more, to slow down.  I've cried more than I thought possible and been more proud of my baby girl than I ever dreamed.  I've learned to advocate more.  I've taken joy in simple things, like a walk to get frozen yogurt, a smile, or time to cuddle.

Or Jazz in the Garden.  Ellie saw some bikes.

(All the bikes parked at the Garden.)

She saw some sculptures.

(Sculpture, people, sun.)

Ellie is getting addicted to Jazz in the Garden just like her parents.  That may have something to do with the fact that she doesn't get a lot of say in our Friday night activities.  She seems to like the tradition, though.  We're at 100 percent (2/2) Jazz attendance for the year.

To celebrate Ellie turning 3 months old, I'm hosting a giveaway.   MaddyNbella is giving one lucky reader a new necklace.  Which would have gone perfectly with my outfit for today.

(Your necklace?)

In order to win this week's giveaway, you must comment on this blog, not on Facebook.  I'll use random.org to pick a winner, but only blog comments count.  Leave a separate comment for each way you enter.  Make sure you "follow" or "subscribe" so you can see when I announce the winner!

("I love him" necklace.)

1. MANDATORY:  Check out MaddyNbella and tell me your favorite item.  (While you're there, add them as a favorite!)
2. Leave me a comment telling me what you are most excited about for the upcoming summer.  The beach?  The pool?  Vacation?
3. Like My Stubborn Little Miss on Facebook, then tell me that you did.
4. Like MaddyNbella on Facebook, then tell me that you did.  (While you're there, tell them Ellie sent you!)
5. Follow MaddyNbella on Twitter, then tell me that you did.  I don't tweet, so maybe give me some Twitter advice?

Good luck!  That's five chances to win each.

P.S.  If you found your way to Ellie's blog because of a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome, this book was just printed and helped me a ton.  Previously, it was an e-book, but now you can buy a hard copy!

The things I am most looking forward to this summer is my trip to Kentucky over the 4th of July weekend see my Grandparents, my Sister's family, including my wonderful niece Evie and her baby brother Owen. Also, my folks are coming up to DC from Texas in August, so psyched! Family is everything to me, so I love getting to see them all!

  19. Hey Megan! Well, this is one way to get us lazy readers to post comments. ;) I love the leather feather wrap bracelet.

Looking forward to this summer? Definitely my sister's wedding in Minneapolis at the end of July, and having some time to just sit on the porch and take in the season.
