Birthday Photo Roundup, {Giveaway} Monday, and a Winner

To celebrate my birthday, we had some family fun.

(Aw, aren't we cute?  Self-portrait.)

We went to the pool.

(Yawn.)

We took a walk.

(Yep, I married him.)

We saw pretty flowers.

We ate dinner together at our favorite restaurant.  I love having a special place where we've celebrated birthdays, our engagement, and Ellie's homecoming.  Both Matt and I have trouble straying from our favorites on the menu, but we always take time to read through all the dishes, then get the same old thing.  My meal of choice is a crepe with salmon.  Amazing.

This is the first time we've taken a blue duck out to eat at our special place.

(Blue duck recommends the French Onion Soup.)

I'm getting to be the age at which one doesn't advertise the year of their birth.  But I also was full of joy watching the kids play this weekend, and thankful Ellie will grow up with many other little ones her age around.

Ellie has a lot of little friends being born and on their way these days.  Wouldn't name blocks make good gifts for all these cute new little babies?  Amber from Gallery Eleven is giving one lucky reader a set of name blocks from her Etsy shop.

You have two choices:

(The product photo has a pretty good name.  Close...)

(This set has cute owls.  Hoot!)

To win, leave one comment on this post per entry.  I'll pick a winner with random.org and announce the lucky reader in a blog post.

Ready?  Here are the ways to enter:

1. Follow Little Miss Stubborn on Blogger or Google Friend Connect.  Then, comment and tell Ellie one thing you remember about your childhood bedroom.

2. Visit Gallery Eleven on Etsy and make that shop a favorite.  Then, come back here and tell me which product you wish you owned.

3. "Like" Ellie's Facebook page, and tell her that you did on this blog.

Good luck!

Finally, the moment you've all been waiting for!  The winner of last week's {Giveaway} is Taylor (comment #1.)  I think sweet baby W will love her new picture.  Taylor, shoot me an email and I'll make sure you get your prize!

  4. Hi Ellie!
In my childhood bedroom, I was allowed to decorate it however I choose, so for many years, my walls were sponge painted many shades of blue, with silver aluminum foil looking electrical tape for the "border."
(my mom was a brave and accepting woman!)

  9. Following gfc,one thing I remember about my childhood room was my first big girl desk. My mom got it so we could work on homework (I shared a room with my sister for a while) but I remember wanting to decorate it- putting my piggy bank, a flower on it. It drove my mom nuts.

  13. ellie, we both follow your blog and are fans of yours on facebook. if only we could know you in person! your mom's updates are a pretty great substitute, as i feel like i'm getting to know you and your sweet, adventurous personality.

the biggest memory from my room growing up is my "princess bed" which turns out was a $40 used daybed my parents scored when i was in elementary school. i seriously felt like a princess and couldn't believe my parents got it for me.

i sure love those owl name blocks. we find out next week if we are having a girl or boy come december, and they would be pretty sweet in a little girl's room!
